What does a minister do?
If you ask 10 people “what does a minister do?”
you’ll get 10 different answers. Let me give you a few. A minister:
- promotes social values
- visits the sick
- runs Sunday services
- maintains a Christian community.
Now I’ll probably be involved in all of these activities,
but they’re not my main purpose.
So what is my job? TO TALK WITH PEOPLE ABOUT JESUS.
If you’re a Christian, I’ll discuss what it means to be Christ-like.
If you’re not a Christian,
I’ll discuss how Jesus calls for you to follow Him.
Paul says in 2 Timothy 4:2: Preach the Word;
be prepared in season and out of season;
correct, rebuke and encourage —
with great patience and careful instruction.
My job is to preach the word of God in such a way that it
challenges people in how they live.
This is my task.
And this task is more important than caring for the sick,
or looking after church administration, or leading parish council.
My time is spent teaching on Sundays,in small groups
and 1-1 what it means to follow Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
So if you need help in your spiritual life,
give me a call ( 9416-5729 ) or e-mail me.
Let’s get together and discuss how Jesus transforms your life.
